VISION AND PURPOSE
Where would you like to be spiritually in 5-10 years?
What kind of relationship with God would you like to have?
How would you like to experience God’s reality in your life?
What kind of prayer life would you want to have?
How well would you like to know the Bible?

Haven’t ever thought about these things? Don’t feel badly; most people haven’t. In fact, most folks operate on the assumption that if you go to church regularly, pray occasionally, and try to live a pretty good life, your spiritual life will take care of itself. Such an approach may enable a person to maintain an air of religious respectability — but the heart may be cold and callous when it comes to God. He may profess to love God—but there is no longing to know God more intimately. Neither is there an enjoyment of God, or a sincere desire to please Him through a life of obedience and trust.

At Crossgate we want to help people mature spiritually—not just so they look good; we want them to be good in the sense that they are committed to doing what is good and pleasing to the Lord. We want their hearts to be so touched by the reality of God’s love and grace, that every facet of their lives will be impacted and serve to promote God’s glory.

To this end, we are committed to Discipling those whom the Lord brings into our church. This Personal Discipleship is a process by which one person comes alongside another in order to encourage their growth in grace and equip them for kingdom service. The end product of this discipling process is spiritual leadership— spiritually mature men and women who are influencing the lives of others so that they might develop a deeper, more personal faith.

7 Qualities we want to see developed in our members:

A.nchored to the Word of God so that it is the grounds for one’s actions/ beliefs.
D.isciplines which enable a person to consistently / daily experience God’s grace.
