The women of Crossgate met for a “Souper Fall Kickoff" last fall where Kathy Kuhman, Director of Women’s Ministries, introduced the leaders of committees and gave the ladies an overview of activities and opportunities to get involved in the 2009-2010 year.
Committees and Leaders:
Fellowship Ministry
Director: Audrey Swart 944-0927
1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His son, purifies us from all sin.”
This ministry organizes events to help the women of Crossgate get to know one another better and experience a deeper fellowship.
Activities may include such things as luncheons, teas, craft workshops, Ladies’ Night Out events and day trips.
Mercy Ministry
Director: Betty Lou Dobson 888-1115
Mathew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”
Mercy Ministry provides support to Focus Groups when ministry needs are more than individual Focus Groups can handle. Practical support such as providing meals, babysitting or other help as needed. This ministry also orders flowers from the church when there is a death in a member’s immediate family (parents, spouse or children).
Outreach Ministry
Director Jeanie Christopher 944-9921
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Outreach Ministries encourages evangelism by organizing and/or promoting events that reach out to women in our community with the love of Christ, i.e. Bible study & parenting classes at Seneca Gardens; Five Day club during the summer and Special Holiday Parties for the children at Seneca Gardens.
Spiritual Growth Ministry
Director: Joye Musselman 886-0687
Psalm 119:130, 133 “The unfolding of your words gives light, it gives understanding to the simple. Direct my footsteps according to your word, let not my sin rule over me.”
Spiritual Growth Ministry organizes and promotes Bible studies; encourages women to participate in Crossgate’s personal discipleship ministry, SALT (spiritual accountability and leadership training); organizes and promotes an annual Crossgate Women’s Retreat and encourages WIC (Women in the Church) involvement in our denominational women’s ministry.
